Tupperware Trouble - An Action Sequence

"Tupperware Trouble" - A Mundane Action Sequence
In an introductory film class, the class was instructed to create a 1 minute action sequence based on something mundane. We were to make a mundane task exciting and over-the-top with fast paced shots and editing.

As I was thinking of an idea, I was doing dishes at the time and hate dealing with plastic tupperware and their unremovable stains.

Once I gave up on cleaning the thing, I had the idea of "Tupperware Trouble".

During pre-production, I made a list of shots and objects that could be used within the sequence. I wanted to make sure the tools used to try and clean the tupperware got more and more ridiculous as the sequence went on. Once I figured out everything on the shot list, I began production.

Minnesota State University of Moorhead School of Media of Arts and Design provided a Panasonic HC-X1 camera to film with. Edgar Wright was a huge inspiration for this project and wanted to focus on fast paced close ups for a majority of the shots.

During post production, the shots were edited in Final Cut Pro. Edgar Wright played in roll in post production as well. Transitions and fast paced cuts were used to increase intensity within the action. Royalty free music and sound effects were added and finalized.

Minnesota State University Moorhead holds a Juried Film and Animation Exhibition each semester to showcase student work. "Tupperware Trouble" was submitted and won the Best Editing award for the Fall semester of 2019. Thank you MSUM!
